1914
Mrs. H. Arnold Jackson
Entries rose to 93, the second highest total to that time, when the Championship
was played at the Nassau Country Club. Mrs. H. Arnold Jackson, of the Oakley
Country Club, who had won as Miss Kate C. Harley in 1908, became Champion again,
defeating Miss Elaine V. Rosenthal in the final, 1 up.
For the first time, all 32 qualifiers broke 100. Miss Bishop was medalist
with 85, tying the record set by Miss Harriot Curtis and Miss Campbell. This
Championship marked the first appearance of a young Georgia girl, Miss Alexa
Stirling, who was to leave an indelible mark on women's golf.
